P. Kim Bui

P. Kim Bui helps newsrooms, funders, and journalism support organizations launch product-oriented projects and build more inclusive cultures. Through Quen Media, she partners with clients including Press Forward, Listening Post Collective, Big Local News and newsrooms nationwide.

Kim was a 2023-24 John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University, where she explored how journalism shapes and represents complex identities. She has led newsroom innovation at The Arizona Republic, where she transformed crime coverage toward equity-focused approaches and reimagined breaking news strategy. She also helped launch reported.ly, where the team won an Online Journalism Award for breaking news coverage, and built social journalism teams at NowThis.

A founding member of the News Product Alliance and former vice president of the Online News Association, Kim has spoken internationally on journalism innovation, equity, and newsroom culture. She was part of the inaugural cohort of CUNY's Executive Program in News Innovation and Leadership. Her work spans audience development, editorial innovation, product strategy, and organizational transformation.
